Author Guidelines

Journal of Ahmedabad Dental College & Hospital (JADCH)

The Journal of Ahmedabad Dental College & Hospital (JADCH) welcomes original, high-quality manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in dental sciences. Authors are requested to carefully read and follow the guidelines outlined below to ensure smooth processing of their submissions.

1. Scope of the Journal

JADCH publishes manuscripts related to all disciplines of dental sciences, including basic, clinical, and applied research. Interdisciplinary and translational research is encouraged.

2. Types of Manuscripts Accepted

  • Original Research Articles
  • Review Articles (Systematic / Narrative)
  • Case Reports and Case Series
  • Short Communications
  • Technical Notes
  • Clinical Innovations
  • Letters to the Editor

3. Submission Process

  • Manuscripts must be submitted online through the journal’s OJS submission system only.
  • Submissions via email or hard copy are not accepted.
  • The corresponding author is responsible for the submission and all communication with the journal.

4. Manuscript Preparation

Language

  • Manuscripts must be written in English only.
  • Clear, concise, and grammatically correct language is required.

File Format

  • Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
  • Use Times New Roman, font size 12, double-spaced, with 1-inch margins on all sides.

5. Structure of Manuscript

Title Page

The title page should include:

  • Title of the manuscript
  • Full name(s) of author(s)
  • Institutional affiliation(s)
  • Corresponding author’s email address

Abstract

  • Maximum 250 words
  • Structured abstract (for original articles):
    • Background
    • Aim
    • Materials and Methods
    • Results
    • Conclusion

Keywords

  • 3–6 keywords

Main Text (for Original Articles)

  • Introduction
  • Materials and Methods
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion

References

  • References should be numbered consecutively in the order of appearance.
  • Follow Vancouver referencing style.
  • Authors are responsible for accuracy of references.

6. Tables and Figures

  • Tables and figures should be cited in the text.
  • Each table and figure must have a clear title and legend.
  • Images should be of high resolution (minimum 300 dpi).
  • Patient identity must not be revealed.

7. Ethical Considerations

  • Studies involving human participants must have Institutional Ethics Committee approval.
  • Informed consent must be obtained where applicable.
  • Animal studies must follow recognized ethical guidelines.
  • A clear Ethics Approval Statement must be included in the manuscript.

8. Plagiarism

  • All manuscripts are screened for plagiarism.
  • Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or duplicate submission is strictly prohibited.
  • Manuscripts with unethical similarity will be rejected.

9. Peer Review

  • JADCH follows a double-blind peer review process.
  • Final decisions are based on reviewer recommendations and editorial evaluation.

10. Conflict of Interest

  • Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest.
  • If none, a statement declaring “No conflict of interest” must be included.

11. Copyright

  • Authors retain copyright of their work.
  • The journal holds the right of first publication under an open-access policy.

12. Revision and Proofs

  • Revised manuscripts must be submitted within the stipulated time.
  • Authors are responsible for checking page proofs carefully before final publication.
