Author Duties

Authors submitting manuscripts to the Journal of Ahmedabad Dental College & Hospital (JADCH) are expected to adhere to the highest standards of ethical conduct, academic integrity, and responsible research reporting. Submission of a manuscript implies that all authors have read, understood, and agreed to comply with the journal’s editorial policies and publication ethics.

Originality and Authorship

Authors must ensure that the submitted work is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. All individuals listed as authors must have made substantial intellectual contributions to the conception, design, data acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of the study. Contributors who do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately.

Accuracy and Data Integrity

Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the data presented in the manuscript. Research data must be collected, analyzed, and reported honestly and transparently. Fabrication, falsification, selective reporting, or manipulation of data is strictly prohibited. Authors should retain original data and be prepared to provide it for editorial review if requested.

Ethical Approval and Informed Consent

Research involving human participants must have prior approval from an institutional ethics committee, and this approval must be clearly stated in the manuscript. Informed consent must be obtained from participants, and patient confidentiality must be strictly maintained. Studies involving animals must comply with applicable ethical guidelines and institutional regulations.

Plagiarism and Redundant Publication

Authors must avoid plagiarism in all its forms, including self-plagiarism and duplicate publication. Any overlap with previously published work must be appropriately cited. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarized or redundant content will be rejected, and appropriate action may be taken in accordance with journal policies.

Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that could influence the research or its interpretation. If no conflicts exist, authors should explicitly state that there are no conflicts of interest.

Acknowledgement of Sources

Authors must properly acknowledge all sources of information, data, and funding that contributed to the research. All references must be accurately cited, and permissions must be obtained for the use of copyrighted material where applicable.

Corrections and Retractions

If authors discover a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they are obligated to promptly notify the editorial office and cooperate in issuing a correction or retraction as necessary.

Compliance with Review Process

Authors are expected to respond to reviewer comments constructively and in a timely manner. Revisions should address all points raised during peer review, and any disagreements should be supported with clear scientific justification.
